Spirits
What are they? Are they trees? Are they human beings? If they are human, why have they no arms? What happened to their arms? Where are they going? Upon encountering these mysterious images, viewers may ask themselves such questions. The sculptures will invite them to enter a dialogue. To me, the sculptor, they represent living spirits that have willingly detached themselves from their Source, in order to walk alone for a while, along paths of their own choosing. They are nameless and timeless. They are like the branches of trees that have decided to depart from their trunks and walk away, perhaps to take root somewhere else - or perhaps not.
